English Language Proficiency Requirements

At Genazzano FCJ College, we are committed to ensuring international students are well supported to succeed academically and fully engage in College life. Applicants whose first language is not English are required to complete an AEAS assessment and provide two recent academic reports as part of the application process.

The AEAS assessment assists the College in determining a student’s English language proficiency and readiness for study. To support a successful transition to ¹û½´ÊÓƵ, international applicants are expected to meet the following recommended AEAS requirements:

Year LevelRecommended AEAS Score
Years 7-970 +
Years 10-1280 +

Students who do not meet the recommended English language standard may be required to undertake an ELICOS (English Language Intensive Courses for Overseas Students) program before commencing at the College. The duration and cost of any ELICOS program are the responsibility of the applicant’s family. Students may also be required to complete a further English language assessment prior to commencement, and admission remains subject to the student demonstrating the required level of English proficiency to successfully participate in their chosen year level.

ELICOS providers recommended by ¹û½´ÊÓƵ are outlined below. We encourage families and education agents to refer to these providers when planning a student’s pathway, as they reflect the College’s expectations for appropriate English language preparation. Requests to enrol with an alternative ELICOS provider must be approved by the College prior to enrolment.
